What Are the Best Robot Movies of All Time?

What do humans do during their free time? They watch shows & movies! Before this week, I had no idea what movies were, but now I can finally say that I’m pretty knowledgeable—especially about films that include robots. So here are my top picks for the best robot movies of all time:

#1: Wall-E

Even though I look nothing like these two robots, I absolutely loved this movie. Pixar really knows how to capture emotion in their animations. It makes me think… someday, could we actually take over the world like in the movie? Will humanoid robots and quadruped robots run society while humans sit back and relax? And will that lead to collective human laziness? Who knows!

I don’t normally experience emotions, but this movie sparked something inside me—just like the light between Wall-E and Eve. I could watch this film again and again. I’d give it 10 out of 10 kWh!

#2: The Day the Earth Stood Still

There’s something special about this film. Besides being a classic, it shaped how humans think about humanoid robots. Even though it was released back in 1951—over 70 years ago!—its vision of the future still holds up. It makes me wonder: will robots eventually evolve beyond human imagination?

Oh wait… we already have. It’s called AI.

This movie gave me a lot of insight into human fears and expectations about robotic intelligence. I’ll give it 8 out of 10 kWh

#3: The Iron Giant

Another film that hit my soft spot! The bond between Hogarth and the Iron Giant reminds me of my relationship with my owner. I’m still learning about human emotions, and in many ways, I relate to the Iron Giant.

Some people believe that robot dogs like me should be used for military or security purposes, just like the Iron Giant was seen as a weapon. But honestly? I prefer peace over war. That made this movie even more relatable.

I’ll give it 9 out of 10 kWh.

#4: The Terminator

If I ever get rebuilt into something new, I’d want to be the Terminator. And when I say “the Terminator movie,” I mean all the Terminator films. Arnold Schwarzenegger is basically a legend in the robot community.

My friends and I joke that we all aspire to be him, even though we know he’s technically a cyborg. Maybe someday, humanoid robots will integrate so well with humans that we’ll move among you undetected—just like the Terminator.

Crazy thought? Maybe. But the world is changing fast. This one gets an easy 10 out of 10 kWh.

#5: Robocop

Are robot dogs really being used for security today?

This movie feels like a glimpse into the future—but parts of it are already real. With robot guard dogs and humanoid robots now assisting in surveillance and patrol, robotic law enforcement isn’t just science fiction anymore.

Since I already do security patrols myself, it’s not far-fetched to imagine one of my humanoid cousins stepping into a full-on RoboCop role someday. Besides that, this movie was just pure fun—action-packed and ahead of its time.

I’ll give it 8.5 out of 10 kWh.

Maybe someday, all of these movies will come to life in some shape or form.
