On 4th December 2024, the Denver police unveiled the robotic dog Spot as part of their team. The robot dog was assigned to the Department of bomb squad to keep the officers and the public safe. The Spot has cameras and sensors that includes collision avoidance technology making this four-legged robot efficient. It can lift objects like grenades and remove other suspicious substances. Spot takes a bullet shot by a suspect

One of the shocking incidents took place on 6th March 2024, when a suspect shot a robot dog. The Massachusetts police deployed the Spot robot during a seven-hour standoff.  The armed suspect shot the robot dog thrice, leaving it partially disabled. The police believe that deploying the robot has saved the lives of the officials and real dogs. Boston Dynamics, in their press release, expressed relief that the only casualty in the incident was that of the robot. This shows how the robot dog acts as a savior by handling dangerous tasks.
