LucidSim: A New Potential System to Train the Robots

The team of researchers at MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) developed an advanced approach for robot training. These researchers made the quadruped robot tackle the tasks efficiently using computer simulation software, mixing it with the principles of real-world physics. This software combines AI features to produce artificial environments that look real, where the robot dog companion was able to perform 88% of the tasks, such as climbing over walls and certain objects or chasing a ball. When a human teacher trained it, it only completed 15% of the tasks.

LucidSim is helping robots not only to navigate the real world easily but also to achieve expert-level performance when taken out of the simulation. Generative AI has made the robot dog a Parkour Pro without human training.

It is exciting to watch that without getting trained in the real-world environment, the robot dog easily navigated the obstacles.”

This statement is a powerful testimony to how using Generative AI made robots collect their own data and perform well with real-world obstacle struggles. The realistic visual data created by Generative AI can be used for diverse robotic searches and assist them in roaming the human environment without setting foot in it.
