UBTech Partner’s Humanoid Robot with Foxconn to Assemble iPhones in China

UBTech Robotics, in Shenzhen, has started manufacturing AI humanoid robots. They plan to expand production on a mass scale by the end of 2025. UBTech recently announced a partnership with Apple’s Chinese manufacturing partner, Foxconn. This collaboration will be helping in assembling iPhones in China. Humanoids can perform simple to complex tasks, including visual inspections, assembling components, etc.

UBTech Robotics delivers between 500 and 1000 units of lightweight commercial robots. More than 70% of them are the brand-new Walker S2 models. The aim is to introduce humanoids into every family and meet the labor shortage in factories.

The Walker S1 for industrial use

Last October, UBTech unveiled the Walker S1. It is an industrial humanoid robot used in car manufacturing plants. This humanoid is used in industries and education, such as the Alpha series. The robot will teach coding and STEM skills to children. This will motivate budding engineers and robotics enthusiasts.

The upcoming Walker S2

Over 60% of the humanoids the company is manufacturing from 2025 will be the advanced model of S1. They will launch the S2 humanoid in the second quarter of this year with a robust build. If you need to buy a humanoid robot, the Walker S3 will be launched by the end of this year.

Unitree emerging as the global leader

Unitree is a Chinese robot manufacturing company bringing an advancement in industrial robot competencies. Automated humanoids are used in verticals from healthcare and manufacturing to customer service. The innovation aims to meet the demand for labor shortages across various sectors. Citi Global Insights Analyst Wenyan Fei said, “By 2050, we are looking at a $7 trillion market for humanoids.”

Fei said, “I think maybe Tesla Optimus is one of the leaders in the market.”
