The previous version of G1 has 23 DoF; however, the new and improved version comes with an impressive 43 DoF. This enables the G1 to mimic human-like flexibility, allowing advanced movement and precision.

Force-Position Hybrid Hand Control

The older G1 version was equipped with 2-force controlled 3-finger dexterous hands, which enabled it to perform several tasks like whisking eggs, etc. However, Unitree has gone two steps ahead and integrated force-position hybrid control in the upgraded G1’s hands, enabling it to grip and handle objects with extreme accuracy, almost human-like. 

Compact and Portable Design

While the height of both G1 versions is almost the same at 50 inches tall, the newer version weighs 103 pounds, while the previous one weighed 77 pounds. However, it can be folded down to  27 x 17.7 x 11.8 inches, making it more compact and portable. 

High-Speed Movement

Though smaller in size, the G1’s latest upgrade enables it to show remarkable agility and balance for a humanoid.
